Gregory Everett Darke was born on August 23, 1953, in Bakersfield, California, to Roy Everett and Helen Grace Darke. He died at home on Sunday, January 26, 2003. Greg is survived by his parents, Roy and Helen Darke of Bakersfield; brother, Richard Darke of Bakersfield; sons, Sean Darke of Fort Sill, OK, and Matthew Darke of Bakersfield; aunt, Betty Grace of Discovery Bay, CA; and nieces and nephews.
Greg attended local schools and graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1971. After serving in the U.S. Navy, Greg returned to Bakersfield and continued his education at Bakersfield College. He worked for Kern Community College District as a custodian for 15 years, and then for Transwest Security Services as a security guard.
Gregs hobbies and interests included poetry and music composition, sportfishing, cooking, camping, genealogy, and family history. He especially enjoyed visiting the Cambria and Visalia areas where his grandparents had lived.
Private services were held for Greg on Saturday, February 1, 2003, at Cambria, CA.
