On November 18, 1977, the Lord blessed parents, Donald Thompson & Susan Thompson Close, with the birth of their second son, Jeff. He went to be with the Lord on August 08, 2025.
Jeff is survived by his Son, Jace Thompson; Father, Donald Thompson and his wife Nancy; Mother, Susan Thompson Close; Older brother Chris Thompson and his wife Kelly; Nieces Victoria Jeffers and Samantha Thompson; Nephews Christopher Jeffers and Max Thompson; Sister Amy Nelson and her husband Andy; and Niece Allie Nelson as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Jeff graduated from Tehachapi High School in 1996 and continued on to graduate from a trade school in Arizona, where he earned a degree in Automotive & Diesel Repair. He was last employed by the county of Kern for 17 years. Some of Jeff's greatest joys were watching Detroit Lions football and Detroit Tigers baseball. He loved to call his father daily to talk about anything & everything. They were the best of friends. Jeff called his son, Jace, often too. Jace was his greatest love.
Viewing will be held on September 04, 2025, 4-7 pm at Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara Mortuary, 1100 Truxtun Ave, Bakersfield, CA. He will be laid to rest on September 05, 2025, 11am at the Eastside Cemetery, Tehachapi, CA. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM on September 06, 2025, at Valley Baptist Church, Olive Drive Campus, 5500 Olive Dr., Bakersfield, CA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jeff's name to the American Diabetes Association.
