Joe Gongora 1954 - 2011 A memorial service will be held on Wednesday afternoon, July 27, 2011, at 3:00 P.M. in Community Christian Fellowship on the corner of Seventh and North Streets, Taft for Taft resident, Joe Gongora, 56. Mr. Gongora was born in Fresno on December 13, 1954 and passed away at his residence on July 24, 2011. He had lived in Taft for the last 31 years and had been employed as an oilworker for over 32 years. He loved riding his Harley, gardening, going to the coast, detailing cars and BBQing. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Gongora; his nephew, Robbie Terrell; his niece, Ashley Gongora and his cousin, Mike Lemos. Mr. Gongora is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debbie Gongora of Taft; his daughter and her husband, Sheriann and Cliff Arnhart of Washington; his son, Joey Gongora of Taft; his father, Max Gongora, Sr.; his brothers, Max Gongora, Jr. and his wife, Vickie, Arthur Gongora, Cecil Gongora and his wife, Jessica; his sisters, Gloria Terrell and Corina Gongora; his grandchildren, Breeana Gongora, Ruben and Jake Fortuna, Beau and Jillian Gongora; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. There are no visitation hours scheduled and the services are under the direction of the Erickson & Brown Funeral Home.
