John Bell Obituary

John Bell 1919 - 2012 John Bell, former long-time resident of Lamont, died Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at 5:15 a.m. John is survived by one sister, Marilou Frisbe of Ridgecrest; several nieces and nephews of Bakersfield, Visalia and Modesto; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and soon to be six great-great-grandchildren. With a ninth grade education, he survived the Great Depression and World War II. He served as a Deacon at Harmony Baptist Church, and as a senior he belonged to Daybreak Baptist Church which he had helped to found as Panama Baptist in the early 1960s. He retired from Kern County Equipment then moved to Sonora, California, before heading to Hobbs, New Mexico where he again served as a Deacon in a local Baptist Church. Finally he returned to Bakersfield before heading to Huntington Beach where he met his Maker almost three years to the day that he lost his wife of 46 years, Margaret Elaine Bell. A chapel service will be held today, Friday, December 28, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Mortuary Southwest, 2739 Panama Lane. For condolences please visit www.greenlawnmortuaryandcemetery.com.
