Bakersfield – Judith "Judy" Epperson, 75, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, in Bakersfield, California, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Judith Anne Saxon on August 4, 1949, in Augusta, Georgia, Judy was the daughter of George and Gertrude Saxon (later McCaslin). She dedicated her life to nursing, beginning in pediatrics and retiring as Director of Nursing at Mercy Home Health. Her caring spirit and strong leadership made a lasting impact on countless patients and coworkers alike.
Judy especially treasured time with her five grandchildren, filling their lives with love, humor, and fun. Family was her greatest joy, and her kindness and light brightened the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Tracie McMahon and Robin Beagle; her grandchildren, Madison and Collin McMahon, and Clara, Julia, and Paul Beagle; her siblings, Steve McCaslin (Barbara), Kathy Hundley (Gene), and Dan McCaslin; and a beloved extended family and many dear friends.
A celebration of Judy's life will be held on August 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park (River Blvd), Bakersfield. A luncheon will follow at Frugatti's at 12:30 p.m.
