Kenneth Kirkpatrick Obituary

KENNETH KIRKPATRICK

May 18, 1939 - May 22, 2021

Born in Bakersfield, CA, to Marvin and Frances Kirkpatrick of Shafter, CA. He was the youngest of three boys.

Ken graduated from Shafter High in 1957 and immediately joined the U.S. Marine Corps. After serving four years and spending two years traveling, he met and married the love of his life, Pat Brown.

He went to work for Shell Oil and during that time had two daughters. He retired from Shell in 1993 and went to work for Riverlakes Community Church, where he and his wife were active members.

Ken entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on May 22nd after fighting a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Pat, their two daughters; Karin Elliott and Susan Edmondson, along with their husbands and children. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Ken will forever be remembered by those who knew him as someone you could count on and would do anything for those he loved. He was hilarious and always had a joke or two for you. He could always make you laugh no matter how you were feeling. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at 10am, Saturday, June 5th at Riverlakes Community Church located at 4301 Calloway Dr. in Bakersfield.

I hadn't seen my Uncle Ken, since I was a young boy, but I remember well his smile--- so I guess he always had it.
On behalf of my brother, Eric, and myself, I want extend our deep and heart-felt condolences and sympathies to our aunt, Pat, to our cousins, Karin and Susan, and to all family, who miss our Uncle Ken, too.
God bless you and send you His peace and His finest blessings.

Kenny was the comedian of the Tangerine Street block in East Bakersfield when he and Pat lived there. I always enjoyed visiting with him, listening to his tales either about Shell Oil, politics or his joking. He always had that huge smile, grinning from ear to ear. RIP, Kenny. Hand Salute from this sailor for your service to our country, my friend. Rest in Peace and Semper Fidelis, Marine.

I loved my dad very much. He was and will always be my hero. I will miss him here on earth. Tell it’s my time to see him in heaven.

Kenny was a great father, husband, and friend; but most of all he loved the Lord! Kenny will be sorely missed by us left behind and restrained here on earth, although heaven is rejoicing now with a new member of God's Army! See you soon dear friend!
