Luis Ismenio Ruberte Guito was born in Peuelas, Puerto Rico on September 20, 1948 and entered into eternal rest on August 11, 2023. His family migrated to Lamont, CA when he was 12 years-old. He attended Lamont schools and Arvin High.
Luis enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1968 and was deployed to Vietnam, where he served as a communications specialist. Subsequently, he worked as a phone technician at Pacific Bell/AT&T for over 30 years. He lived briefly in Hayward, CA and then returned to Kern County. He enjoyed spending time with family and numerous friends. His time with his grandchildren were his most cherished moments.
He is survived by his fianc Anna Rebeca (Becky) Lomeli; children, Luis O. Ruberte, Luis Daniel Ruberte and Marlena R. Gomez; stepmother, Amalia Ruberte; sisters, Luisa Feliciano and Mayra Ruberte; brother Hector Ruberte; and grandchildren, Nathan and Aiden Ruberte, Vivian and Andrew Gomez.
He was preceded in death by his father, Domingo Ruberte, Sr., mother Fidela Ramos Ruberte; and brothers, Domingo Ruberte, Jr. and Irenes Ruberte.
Services will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd., Bakersfield, CA 93306. Viewing at 5pm and rosary at 7pm on Friday, September 1, 2023. Military funeral service and burial on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 10am.
