Margaret C. Parker

1918 - 2008

Mrs. Margaret C. Parker died peacefully in her sleep Monday, April 28, 2008, at French Hospital. Margaret, a native of Sioux Falls, S.D., was a homemaker and community volunteer. She and her husband, Charles, retired to San Luis Obispo in 1985, where she enjoyed traveling, golf, playing cards and spending time with her family and good friends, especially those at Laguna Lake Mobile Home Park. Margaret is survived by her six children, Kathleen (Bob) Ramsay of Seabeck, WA, Monica (John) Ortiz of Rocklin, CA, Terry (Bill) Elrod of Bakersfield, Dave (Cissie) Parker of Elk Grove, Patricia (Paul) Hoover of Atascadero and Lieutenant Colonel Jim Parker and his wife, Lieutenant Colonel JoBeth Parker, currently based at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Timothy, Benjamin, Christopher, Sean, Stephanie, Kevin, Jake, Andy, Brian, Riley, Katie, Natalie and Jamie; as well as her sisters Mabel Sagouspe and Anne Friman. Her beloved husband, Charles, preceded her in death. The family would also like to thank all of the doctors and health professionals who cared for her in her last years, including the caring staff of French Hospital. The Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 12:45 p.m., followed immediately by the memorial Mass at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, May 2, 2008, at Old Mission Catholic Church in San Luis Obispo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Margaret Parker's name to Saint Vincent de Paul Society or the American Cancer Society. Margaret C. Parker 1918 - 2008
