Marion Gail Kresha, 79, of Bakersfield, California, passed away November 21, 2025. She was born July 24, 1946, in Bakersfield to Martha and Joe Thomas.
Gail graduated from North High School in 1964 and later earned degrees from Bakersfield College and California State University, Bakersfield. She worked for local agencies before fulfilling her dream of becoming an elementary school teacher for the Bakersfield City School District, where she taught until retiring in 2001.
In 1971, Gail met the love of her life, Richard Kresha, and the two married on December 1, 1973. Their partnership was the heart of her life, and together they built a devoted blended family.
Gail cherished traveling, cooking for family and friends, watching the birds from her favorite seat in the den, picking fruits and veggies from her garden, snuggling her doggies, and playing cribbage with Richard. One of her most memorable moments was winning the showcase on The Price Is Right in 1997. After retirement, Gail and Richard bought their motorhome and traveled with their fur babies.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Gail is survived by her husband, Richard; her daughters, Dianna Ledbetter, Melissa Folsom, Lisa Rogers, and Jennifer Watson; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on December 20, 2025, at Kern River Family Mortuary.
