Maurice Bernard Sneed

Maurice 45, went to the arms of our loving Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 8, 2014. Maurice was born November 24, 1968 in San Bernadino, California to Roy Sneed and Alberta Thompson. In 1977 he moved with his family to Bakersfield, California. He graduated from South High in 1987.
Maurice worked for Paiges Security as a security guard at the Federal building and the social security office for many years until he became ill, but his medical condition did not stop him. Through his illness he kept a positive attitude and persevered. He worked part-time as a Petition Circulator, and most recently he worked as an advertiser for Little Caesars Pizza (White Lane and Gosford Road) where he made numerous friends and made many passers-by honk and smile.
Maurice is preceded in death by his father Roy Sneed, mother Alberta Robinson and brother Garland Harris.
He leaves to cherish his memory brothers, Billy Thompson and Melvin (Ofelia) Jones; sister, Shermeka (Mitch) Phair; former spouse, Ethel Sneed; uncle Monroe, Aunt Bettie and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
We will miss him tremendously.
We the family would like to express our appreciation for the many kind and thoughtful people who stopped and gave Maurice cold beverages when the weather was hot and warm beverages when it was cold. Thank you.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 3:00 to 7:00pm at Rucker's Mortuary, 301 Baker Street. Services will be held on Friday, June 20th, at 10:00am at Church of Christ, 1020 E. California Avenue.
