Time passes, but we still miss you so much. We are forever grateful for the fabulous haircuts and time spent as we followed you until you found your favorite salon, Laurel Hill. Stephanie "Henry, as you called her when she was little" graduates this year from Holly Grove Christian School. You'd be proud of the little spunky girl who spoke her mind while you cut her hair. Whenever we're in town we try to stop by to visit just to have a moment of remembrance near our favorite hairdresser. You were so special to us and still are! We love and remember you with fondness!

I continue to miss Mitchell so much and think of him daily whenever I look at the many things he gave and sent me over the years. He was such a vibrant, sweet, thoughtful, fun guy. There was never a dull moment. Whenever he came to visit I would gain 10 pounds going with him to all his favorite places to eat. Dear Mitchell,
You touched my life in so many ways, and were the best of friends to me and my service animal, Eddie. Very few people in my life can claim they made me see how beautiful I am, but you had the gift of always making others live to their potential, and so much more. You were a shining candle in the darkness...

I just learned of your passing yesterday, Mitchell, and though I barely knew you I cannot get you out of my mind. It is so clear when reading all of these tributes to you that you were a unique human being. For me you were this cute, upbeat guy in shorts and work boots with a great aura - you were a great friend to my stylist, Deb. You never touched my hair but I'm finding that you deeply touched my heart. Everyone at the salon is so sad, so shocked, by your passing; they will get "back on the bus" but it will take some time.To really know you is apparently to really LOVE you. I didn't REALLY know you but I thank you for that peek inside a beautiful human being.

I had brain surgery in 1983, I had my whole head shaved, afterward, he'd cut my hair. He'd fit me in in between his other clients. It would take a whole 3 minutes to cut my hair. I thought he was great! He will be missed.

One of the fondest memories that I will remember from my time with Mitch was how good he smelled. The smell was never overbearing it was just the right smell and it was just like he was in life. Just the right kind of man who always seemed to know what to say at the right time, do your hair just the right way etc....I could go on but I know everyone knows what I mean. God Bless you Mitch and you are loved, missed and treasured. Till we meet again my friend.

To the Brumfield family,
I had no idea that you'd suffered the loss of Mitch. It's funny how someone who spends a precious 2hrs with you every five weeks can have such a profound effect on you. Mitch had rescued me from a self-inflicted horrific haircut at the age of 13. He continued to care for me though highschool, college, a marriage, the birth of my twins, and a divorce. I can't begin to count the tears he endured. My most heart breaking time came when, while I sat in the lobby he handed me a letter that said he was headed home to be closer to his mom. I cried (selfishly of course). What a wonderful man, person, and friend. You were all so blessed.
