She is survived by her daughters, Regina Shelton, Karen Girard and husband, Chuck; granddaughters, Rhonda Nelson and husband, Mark, Gina Boles and husband, Michael, Kristin Thurston and husband, Jeff, Alisa Childers and husband, Mike, Cherie Girard and Nicole Girard; great-grandchildren, Joshua Lansing, Jillian Morgan and husband, Evan, Jessica Boles, Katie Boles, Lauren Thurston, Kailyn Thurston and Matthew Thurston; brother, Reverend James Guinn and wife, Allyne; sisters, Fern Fenton, Rosetta Caruthers and husband, Lewey, and sister-in-law, Edith Guinn, and many loving extended family members and friends. Opal was born in Keifer, Oklahoma on September 28, 1918. She passionately taught her family to love God. Opal was known for her sparkle and her tireless commitment to Jesus, her family, and her church. She ministered to all who crossed her path. Her shining example of faith and service was evident into her final days. Visitors were encouraged by her gratitude to God for His many blessings and her admonition to, Make your lives glorify God. She made sure that everyone knew that she was going to Heaven because Jesus made the way. Nanas children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren eagerly anticipated her pineapple pies and chocolate pies on Thanksgivings and Christmases. Her family and friends enjoyed her adventurous spirit and quick laugh. She will be missed, but as the days go by, thoughts of her will warm our heart and turn our eyes toward Heaven. Nana, we'll see you in the morning! Visitation will be Wednesday, September 7, 2005, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary. Legacy.com
