PAMELA ANN (FOX) HARRIS
September 27, 1954 January 3, 2022
Pamela was born September 27, 1954 in Corcoran, CA. Her parents were Robert Doyle Reed and Robbie Jean Horton Reed. Both preceded her in death. Pamela passed away January 3, 2022. After a hard fought battle with several health issues.
Pamela is survived by her husband Gary Harris of Bakersfield, her sister Tracey Avilla and her husband Allen of Sierra Vista, Arizona, her daughter Audrey Bochat of Bakersfield and her grandson Nicholas Bochat and his wife Josie of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Pamela also has many aunts, uncles, and cousins in California, Oregon, Tennessee and Georgia.
Upon marrying Gary, Pamela gained an extended family, a daughter named Lori Terrey and her husband Kevin, a son named Donavan Harris and his wife Jennifer. She also gained six more grandchildren, who she quickly came to love as much as they loved her, they are; McKenzie, Kayla, Kiya, Ayden, Kayden and Callista. Pamela spent many years loving all of them.
Pamela was very musically talented from an early age. She played several different instruments. Her favorite was bass guitar, which she played in two country western bands; they played in several venues throughout central and Northern California.
Pam became interested in nursing in her early years, she put herself through nursing school, and became an RN and worked in both Tulare and Kern County for over 30 years. She specialized in being an operating room nurse. Pam enjoyed travelling her entire life; she particularly enjoyed it after retiring from nursing and married Gary. They were gone often; they were constantly flying to different parts of the world. Many trips were on their Harley Davidson motorcycle or in their fifth wheel travel R.V. They went on trips all over the U.S. and into Canada. One trip on the Harley was to Alaska and back. Pam also loved cruising.
One of Pam's other loves was fishing. She was an avid fly fisherman. Pam and Gary fished all over the U.S. Canada and Alaska. Pam would fish anywhere and everywhere a fish might be caught.
Pamela was involved in many different organizations related to organ transplants and organ donations. She was and ambassador to OneLegacy and volunteered with JJ's Legacy, she was a guest speaker at many different occasions throughout Kern County raising awareness to organ donation.
Pam had many great loyal friends throughout the area, she volunteered with many civic organizations. A great love of cats lead her into volunteering with the Cat People group. She will be dearly missed by all.
The Family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to Hoffmann Hospice, they were of great comfort and help in her last days.
