Patsy Glenn Obituary

Patsy (Pat) Lee Glenn, 83, born in Mt. Pleasant, Tx., was a compassionate mother, wife and friend, loving everyone for who they were, not who she thought they should be.

She loved to golf and when she wasn't golfing, she worked as a legal secretary, a job she held for almost 40 years. She even served one year as president of the Legal Secretaries Association.

She was active for many years with the Moose Lodge and The American Legion, Post 682. It was at the American Legion where she met the love of her life, Richard Glenn. Sadly, he passed from this life way too soon. She never quite got over the loss. Pat was still a proud member of the American Legion at the time of her passing.

She loved to play pool and played on the Moose Lodge's team, where she was quite good, beating many an unsuspecting male challenger.

Pat loved all animals, rescuing many cats and dogs, giving them all a loving home.

Due to failing health, Pat spent the last couple of years living with her daughter Lori. They were best friends, and loved to watch Jeopardy while eating dinner together, seeing who could guess the correct answer...she won most often. One of their favorite things to say to each other, as they would say good night or good bye, was "Love you more!" and quickly close the door so the other could not dispute the claim.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Lorene Blakely and Isaiah Johnson, her brothers Fred Grissom and Roy Johnson, second husband Robert(Bob) Oglesby and third husband, Richard Glenn.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori Bertolucci, son and daughter-n-law, Roy and Paula Bertolucci, daughter and son-n-law, Donna and Larry Quary, step daughter and husband Leanne and Lynn Wiese and a very special person who was always there for her, Quentin(Q) Smith. She also leaves behind numerous grand and great grandchildren.

Special thanks goes to Dr. Sabitha Eppanapally and her staff, who tried hard to keep mom in our world. Thank you for all you did for us!

At the end of Mom's life, her honorary daughters stepped in to help take care of her...Thank you Jenifer Schiffhauer Natto, Kelly DiGiacomo, Susan James, Cathy Baca, Sandy Neblett, Dawn Woltz, and Pam York. Mom left us knowing my friends would be there to support me thru it all. I am proud and honored to have friends like you. Thank you!

Services will be held at graveside on Aug. 17, 2016 at 9:30am at Greenlawn Cemetery, 3700 River Blvd, Bakersfield, Ca. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite local animal rescue.

Mom, it's been 5 long years since you had to leave.
I hope you know all your pets are safe with me, tho sadly, two had to cross over.
There is not a day goes by that I don't think of you or talk to you.
I miss you, Mom.
Love you more...love you more...

Thank you for being such a wonderful 2nd Mom to me and such a special Godmother to my Bailey. I will miss our emails and phone calls especially when I would call you during a tornado and you had a way of always calming me during the storm. Your love of animals was beautiful, you were the only one who understood and appreciated the wildlife critters that I have adopted and continue to spoil. I know you will have many new "fur babies" in your life very soon. Our last phone conversation a couple of weeks ago will forever stay with me and I will cherish that. You will always hold a special place in my heart.

There are people we only meet through their children. Never having the honor of meeting Patsy, I know what a great person she was by the daughter she had. The apple did not fall far from that awesome tree.

Lori, You know my thoughts are with you at this time. Thank you for always keeping me updated with your texts or phone calls. Your Mom "my other Mom" was a very special person, such a important part of my life for so many years. I don't know what I will do the next time another tornado hits here, in the past I would always call her and she would calm me during the storms, she had a way of always making things better. I will miss her more than words can express but I will always cherish the wonderful memories. She was a special "Godmother" to my Bailey.
