Paul Bugni Obituary
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday January 29, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Paul Louis Bugni was born Dec. 22, 1937 to Jim and Bessie Bugni and passed away peacefully at home while he listened to one of his favorite albums of Marty Robbins. Paul grew up in Pumpkin Center, attended Panama School and then on to Bakersfield High School where he was a member of FFA. Paul's goal in life was to take over his family farm which he did with his brother Jimmy, along with opening Bugni Bros Hardware and Feed in Pumpkin Center Paul loved his hobby of raising cattle which he learned from his uncle, Johnny Fachin. That was the beginning of the Flying B Cattle Company. Paul was happiest with his dogs, spending time on the family farm or in the mountains looking after his cows. He loved the tradition of the old family ways such as making salami, sausage, wine and grappa. Family trips to the cabin on Memorial Day, the Bugni dove hunt and Fourth of July fireworks. He was known by many as the "Bugniville Patrol" with his many trips around the farm. He could tell by tire tracks or by some item being slightly out of place that a stranger had invaded Bugni property.
Paul is preceded in death by his grandson, Adam George Bauer, his parents, Jim and Bessie Bugni, and his brother Jimmy Bugni, also by his beloved dogs Hey Dog and Jack and many others too numerous to mention. He is survived by his daughters Kellee Wolber and son-in-law Tor, Kristin Varner and son-in-law Vint. Grand children, Monica and Kyle Long, Lauren Bauer, Dane Varner, Chelsi and Anthony Vega, and Nick Bauer. Sister in law Joan Bugni, niece Jill Buntley and family, nephew Jefre Bugni and family and brother Joe Bugni, brother-in-law, Mike Bullock and family. Most of all Paul leaves behind his angel on earth Donna Bugni who always had him in her prayers and was at his side praying when he died.
The family would like to give special thanks to Paul's care givers Cristela, Laura, Desiree, and Rachel, our cousin Dina Ligari and the staff of Hoffman Hospice for all their help and love.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to Hoffman Hospice.
