It was so easy to become Phil´s friend. He was so gregarious and upbeat all the time. After graduating from dental school, I called many dentists in the San Fernando Valley, asking if they needed an associate. Phil was one of those dentists and I chose to work for him. We became instant friends. So many things in common - love of fishing, football, rivalries (USC vs UCLA), concerts, etc. Even when I built my own office and practice, we continued our tight friendship.

This is the kind of guy Phil was: always happy, always positive, always engaging, and always looking to add humor to the conversation. And in the almost 20 years we worked together, we didn´t have a single argument or even disagreement. That´s unheard of for partners together that long, but that´s the kind of guy Phil was. Love you Phil.

I'll never forget ocean yellowtail fishing with Phil (and family/friends). He insisted on bringing as many fishing poles as he could carry and clearly stated "I love my fishing poles" with puppy dog eyes. Upon return he even accidently brought an extra pole (boat rental pole) back to the condo. We all had a good laugh with the deckhand (Keith) when he came over to pick it up. That day he immediately hooked into a fiercely fighting Yellow tail--then all of a sudden the fight ended. "I got spooled" Phil claimed. It was sad silence for about 10 minutes until he hooked up again---then it became a funny story (and Phil put more line on his reel for next time!. We will miss you!
