Rick Archerd Obituary

Rick Allen Archerd 12/13/1955 1/1/2006 Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2006, 2:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Rick passed away peacefully at home. He is survived by his two sons, Michael and Mitchell and their mother, Linda Pascuzzo; his mother, Jean Gaines; his three brothers, Robert, Frank and Kirk; as well as his sister, Linda and her husband, Dave Smith; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Laura and his life companion, Traci. Rick grew up in Bakersfield and lived most of his life here. His greatest joy was his twin sons. You couldnt find a prouder father. He said the day they were born his life completely changed, all for the better. Rick enjoyed taking bike rides with his sons. He was a familiar sight in Oildale as he walked along with Mitch riding his bike. Rick and Michael shared an interest in anything that had an engine or motor. The three of them were great tinkerers together. He will be greatly missed. No visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Junior Blind Foundation. Legacy.com

I'm signing this again since it's been 3 weeks now that Rick's been gone and I have come to realize how much I took him for granted. It was a give & take relationship and now I know I have no one to watch out and take care of us. He was family to me and my kids. We will hold our memories close to our hearts and never forget Rick Archerd. I sincerely hope that he is with Traci now and suffering no more. May we meet again someday. I love you, Rick.

Oh there is something I wanted to add that I forgot to add when I put up my first post on Jan. 9th. I remember Rick helped me when my wheels went kaput on me and he drove my Foxy home to me. This post is on her behalf. My dog misses Rick too. So I am signing for my dog, Foxy Macaluso.

Howdy, Rick. Sorry to see you go so soon. I still think you are quite a look-a-like to Pat Buttram, Gene Autry's sidekick in his TV westerns. But you are a swell guy. I shall miss you.

If I could talk I would say goodbye to you, Rick, and that I loved how you treated me like a normal person. Thank you for taking me swimming and for letting me try to wipe off your tattoos. I'll miss you at my house.
