Stacy Loyd Obituary

STACY SUE LOYD

November 26, 1955 – July 21, 2025

It's with sad hearts we announce the passing of Stacy Sue Loyd, age 69, on July 21, 2025 in Bakersfield, CA, after a six month battle with cancer.

Stacy was the proud daughter of Byron Ernest Loyd and Eleanor (Galyen) Loyd. Stacy spent her entire life in Bakersfield, graduating from BHS in 1973 and BC in 1975. She then became a State certified Dental Assistant in 1978. She then worked for Dr. Tom Stewart for several years to the joy of many patients. Stacy continued her education, graduating from CSUB in 2000 with a degree in Psychology.

Stacy then went to work for Kern County Social Services in 2002 in Child Protective Services. These kids became her kids as she protected and guided them through difficult situations in life. Stacy was awarded Social worker of the year in 2002 while guiding foster kids leaving the system and learning life skills.

Stacy was baptized in April of 1978 and this changed her life. She loved the Lord and demonstrated it everyday. She always had a smile on her face and made all feel loved. A highlight of her life was when she traveled to Africa as a missionary and witnessed to thousands of people. Another highlight was when she traveled to Mexico and was able to swim with dolphins.

Stacy in her last months was cared for by her best friends Robin Wallace and Rosealee Easter. Stacy's family extends our sincere gratitude for their love and caring for Stacy in her final days,.

Stacy joined in heaven her parents Byron and Eleanor Loyd.

Stacy is survived by her bothers Steven Loyd and wife Patricia, daughters Bridgette Corridan and Kelly Pieczonka. Stuart Loyd and his wife Kaye Lynn, daughters Shelley Wyrick and Melissa Brash. Stacy loved and leaves behind her nieces, Bridgette (Bob) Corridan, Kelly (Aaron) Pieczonka, Shelley (Jordan) Wyrick and Melissa (Matt) Brash. She also leaves behind her grandnieces and grandnephews, Beckett and Brogan Corridan, Payton and Senna Pieczonka, Rhett, Coy and Jude Wyrick, Dylan and Daniel Brash.

A Celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Valley Baptist Church, 4800 Fruitvale Ave. Bakersfield CA, 93308. Please join her Family and Friends to celebrate her life.

I am so sad that Stacy has passed. The world has lost such a bright light, but I know she loved our Savior and she is in his loving arms and out of pain.

Stacy was truly one of a kind. She genuinely cared about the foster youth she worked with. She was a great coworker, always kind and quick with a smile. I remember also being so impressed by how determined Stacy was. When she set a goal for herself, she stuck with it until she accomplished what she wanted to do. She was nothing short of amazing.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have known Stacy. I will cherish her memory until we meet again

I´m so very saddened to hear of Stacy´s passing. We knew each other since the 6th grade. She is one of the ones that first had a car in high school. She would take us girls to school & we would also go off campus to Andres for lunch. The last time I saw Stacy was at our 30th class reunion over 30 years ago. Please accept my condolences.

I´m so sorry to see if Stacy´s passing. We were good friends through high school. Sadly we didn´t keep in touch after high school.

I had the opportunity to work with Stacy with foster youth. I managed the Independent Living Program for Bakersfield College, a program that offered life skills to foster youth getting ready to emancipate from the system. Stacy was a Kern County Department of Human Services Social Worker working with the foster youth. Stacy recruited the youth to the BC training. Stacy was a great resource and a tireless worker in the field working with the foster youth. Stacy was a great asset to the program and great to work with.
