Steven Luttrell Obituary

Steven Alan Luttrell 1947 2005 The only son of Orrie and Naomi Luttrell, Steve attended local schools, and graduated East High School in 1966. Steve and his wife, Ann, raised two sons, Nathan and Kyle. For several years after high school, he worked at various jobs, but finally found his calling working for Pacific Bell. After 32 years, he retired in 2002. Retirement was a dream come true, no alarm clocks, golf with the guys (only after noon), Wednesday night bowling, and an occasional poker game. While Steve would have preferred to stay close to home, he gave into Anns desire to travel, so many trips in their motor home soon followed. The California to Oregon coastline was his favorite. Playing golf along the way, enjoying the scenery and finding great places to have a good meal. His sense of humor was special, he welcomed everyone, was always generous and opened his home to all for drop-in visits and special occasions. Steve would say he wasnt very special, it would be hard to imagine our lives being any better, without him. He considered his sons, Nathan and Kyle his greatest accomplishments. He was filled with pride to see just what wonderful young men they have become. The memories we hold deep within, will help to sooth our aching hearts for the loss of our Steve. Steve is survived by his wife, Ann and sons, Nathan and Kyle. A wide circle of lifelong friends, from school and work, his extended family members, Aunt Peggy and Uncle Bert (Tennessee) and Uncle Steve (Texas) and numerous cousins, along with Anns large family of aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity you hold close to your heart. Please join us to celebrate Steves life, tell a story, make us laugh, share your joy of having known such a wonderful person. Aunt Peggy Cecil

January 26, 2006

My sister's only son was a wonderful man. I was able to take care of him as infant which was my first opportunity to be an aunt. His family in Tennesse will miss him.

It has been an honor knowing and working with Steve. Although we rarely worked together, I always like seeing his smiling face at the old toll bldg as well as the golf course. My deepest sympathy for your loss.

Although we lost contact due to a war and relocation across the country, Steve is always remembered as a cheerful, giving friend. The kind of friend who would stand in as "Groomsman" with short notice at our wedding long ago.

Our thoughts & prayers go out to the family at this difficult time.

Steve and I were best friends in high school. We had so much fun together. He, Pat Russell and I were inseperable. I don't know why we didn't keep in touch and, of course, now it's too late.

My love and condolences to his family. Donnie
