Timothy Brown Obituary

TIMOTHY ROBERT BROWN

April 6, 1980 November 14, 2021

Timothy Robert Brown, age 41, passed away on November 14, 2021. Tim was born on April 6, 1980, Easter Sunday. Tim had many nicknames, Little Scraper, Tim Bob, and others.

Tim is survived by his two sons, Gunnar Brown, and Cannon Brown, and Amy Powell Brown, former wife. He is also survived by his sister Michelle Brown Davis and brother in law Jad Davis; Shelly Brown Sterni, mother and John Sterni, husband; Robert Lloyd Brown, father and wife, Jody Brown; Russell Brown uncle and wife Phyllis Brown. Tim also has twin nieces, Abigail and Katelyn Davis, and nephew Jacob Davis. Tim is also survived by numerous cousins in Bakersfield.

Tim attended North High, and then Bakersfield College with an AS degree. Tim served his country as an Army Ranger and with the 10th Mtn. Div. from 2000 to 2005, with tours in Afghanistan and Arbil, Iraq, where Kurds were liberated. Tim was a gunner on a Humfy with the 10th Mtn. Tim lost several Army buddies in Baghdad region, which affected him deeply, and he never forgot them. Tim then did security work with EODT, training Ugandan Nato troops in Baghdad, Iraq for almost a year. That is the famous purple thumb vote in Iraq, and Tim patrolled for 36 hours as part of that process for that country.

Tim then came home to Bakersfield where he attended Bakersfield College, and then married, and worked for MMI for 4 years. During that time, that is when Gunnar and Cannon were born. During that time, he gave away many of his mementos from Iraq to friends. He also had traveled so much in many countries, he came home to be home, and not travel anymore, which resulted in Amy driving on trips, and Tim would take naps.

Tim's favorite food included Chicken Rice, learned from Baghdad, and Nilla Wafer Banana pudding. His food likes were simple like ice cream, shakes, eggs, potatoes, and he loved a chili dog as much as a steak.

Tim's favorvite sport was football, but he loved all sports. Tim loved the 49ers, Green Bay, and the Oakland A's.

Tim was much loved by his family and friends. Tim was full of life and loved to laugh, and always wanted to get people to laugh and be happy. Tim had an affinity to Seniors, children, and dogs. Tim loved Merle Haggard, Elvis, Johnny Cash, and Bon Jovi. Tim loved life which meant his Harley, his '72 Chevelle, and4x4 trucks. He also liked playing the guitar. He also loved parachuting, and studied Brazilian Judo for a time. Tim loved his boys, Army buddies, all his friends, and his family.

Tim will be buried at the Bakersfield National Cemetery, currently being scheduled. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Tunnels to Towers, DAV, or your choice of a Veterans organization.

My father had passed a year before I met Tim. I was 16 when Tim and my paths crossed. He was the reason I was able to smile again. He was the only person that could make my heart feel more whole again. He was different than anybody I have ever met in all the best ways. He would stop on his way from Paso to see me and pick flowers from the field to give to me. He was a true sweetheart. We would ride around and he would sing his heart out to Guns n Roses or Johnny Cash or Merle Haggard ect. And he knew where all the best hole in the wall places to eat were. Those were some of the best times of my life. Tim was Life! He was larger than life. His big smile entered the room before he did. He was one of my great loves and I have and always will carry a special place in my heart for him. Even in a dark world Tim shined! And he will shine forever! Love you always my friend. Much love and respect to his family. God speed.

We were close friends with your parents so we got to watch you and Michele grow up. You were a courages and honorable young man after 911 going to war in Iraq as a Ranger. I still have the Saddam Hussein money and letter you sent during that time. You requested a care package with treats for the Iraqi kids so you and your buddies could hand it out. I will never forget the trip you and Michele made across the country from NY to KC. It was hot and the Chevelle had no air conditioning! Poor Michele. We were so happy to get to visit with you both. Just know we were proud of you Tim for your service to our country and for the kind hearted man you were. Rest in God's peaceful arms now. Hugs to the family.
