TIMOTHY "TIM" DEAN GARCIA
August 26, 1954 - October 31 2019
Our beloved Tim, age 65, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in his sleep on October 31, 2019 in Bakersfield, California. He was born in Bakersfield to Ralph and Aileen Garcia on August 26, 1954.
Tim graduated from South High in 1972. He was a paramedic for Flynn Ambulance and also worked at Kern Pump Company before purchasing Allied Steam Company which he ran for 34 years before retiring in January of 2018. Tim volunteered many years for the Kern County Sheriff Reserve under Donny Youngblood.
Tim was known for his honesty, loyalty to his friends, his fun personality and for being the perfect host. He loved his cars and was a collector of many. Tim belonged to several car clubs including the Pontiacs of Bakersfield, Corvettes of Bakersfield, Smokers and many more over the years. Tim enjoyed going to all the car shows and meeting up with friends. He loved going to the Famoso Raceway for the Hot Rod Reunion, the March Meets and the Crackle Fest. Every year at the NSRA Street Rod Nationals, you would see Tim surrounded by friends at the exact same site right next to "Schartel the Pinstriper" along with Schartel's wife Sandra and their son Paulie. This year's Nationals will not be the same without Tim.
Tim was well known and had so many friends that are going to miss him. He had a heart of gold and would help any friend in need. He loved life and if you were lucky enough to know him, you were blessed.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents. Tim leaves behind his sister Diane (Mike) Davis, nephew Chris (Heather) Davis and children, many cousins, and good friend Lou Ann Roux, and his sweet golden retrievers Caesar and Ginger.
Tim had many "brothers from another mother" as he would say, including Jim Lyles, Beau Bohannon, Audie Sneed, Dan Lee, Everett Pierce, Gary Guinn, Gary Knight, Aaron Moore, Gary Wanagitis, Rodney Rucker, Mike Schartel, Blake Bowser, Skip Langston, Jimmie Taliaferro and so, so many more that he was close to and considered them all as family. His passing took us all by surprise and he will be missed beyond words.
Services will be held at Greenlawn Mortuary Southwest, 2739 Panama Lane on November 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.

Tim, it was such a pleasure knowing you and hanging out with you at the many family get togethers and car shows throughout the years, you always had a story and kept us engaged/entertained, never a dull moment! Your zest for life was like no other! You were a gift not only to our sister, but to our entire family!

Tim, you were such a wonderful brother and a terrific member of our family. Thank you for all the great times and memories. Our family was so happy that you and Lou Ann found each other again and had every intention and desire to spend the rest of your lives together. I have a broken heart like so many other people here. What a unique larger-than-life personality Tim had. When we first met Tim, I told my husband Skip, Tim has a Rolodex in his head. I have never met anyone who can name a person and their business as quickly as he can. And let's talk about the things Tim would say; as Lou Ann put it, There's no filter. LOL. I can't tell you how many times I would tell Tim while the four of us were out to dinner, Tim, you can't say that. And he would quickly reply, Why not He wasn't waiting for an explanation from me. He was letting me know that it will definitely happen again. That's why we loved him so much; his honesty was real. * I thank God that I got to have one more brother-sister talk with Tim the day before he left us. I was sitting with my elderly father at his nursing home and asked Dad, Hey, how about I call Tim to see how he's doing? Dad was all for it. I got Tim on the phone and put him on speaker. Tim and my dad cracked jokes back and forth until Tim said, I like that guy! No, I don't like him, I love him! And that's how Tim was. He loved people. And he didn't divide his love between all of you, his good friends; he multiplied it. Well, we ended our phone call, but Tim immediately called back and said, I just want you to know that I'll always love Lou Ann and I will never leave her. I have loved her for eight years and I will love her until the day I die. Well I wish he would have used different words at the end there. *I didn't know that tears can flow without actually crying, but they sure can. My heart goes out to Tim's sister Diane, her son Chris and the rest of Tim's family, as well as the many men and women in his huge extended family. And Lou Ann, we know that you and Tim had made so many plans for the future. Tim told me that he loved it when the two of you got to be at the coast together. I can't imagine what you are going through. Brother Tim, we do find comfort knowing that you are reunited with your wonderful parents and many great friends, but we miss you dearly
