Wallace Wade "Wally" Bedford

Wallace Wade "Wally" Bedford April 28, 1939 - July 2, 2011 Rosedale resident Wallace "Wally" Bedford passed away after an extended illness on July 2, 2011, at home with his loving wife, Jane, by his side. Wally was born in Florence, Arizona, on April 28, 1939. Wally attended Kern Union High School and graduated from Dos Palos High, where he met the love of his life, Jane. After high school, Wally joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Fort Ord. Wally and Jane married on September 7, 1959. Shortly after, Wally was transferred to Germany, where Jane was able to join him. Wally worked as a draftsman and surveyor for the oil companies most of his life. He was a sheep leader for Rosedale 4-H for 20 years and loved traveling with close 4-H friends to various fairs throughout the state, watching their children show sheep. He was also a member of the Rosedale Lions Club. Wally was preceded in death by his son, Bill; mother, Nola Dodge; and his father, Woody Bedford. He is survived by his loving wife, Jane; son, Stephen; daughter-in-law, Tracey; five grandchildren, Kyle, Wilson, Leah, Danielle, and Skye; brothers, Willard (Mary) and Pat (Sharon); sister, Janiece (Eddie) Kendrick; brother-in-law, Bob (Meme) Dawkins; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with services on Friday, July 8, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, 3700 River Blvd. Special thanks to Dr. Peter Nalos for helping Wally renew his faith in Christ, and Hoffmann Hospice for their support and attentiveness during his final days.
