Agnesine Seluzicki Obituary



Sister Agnesine Seluzicki, a member of the Mission Helpers of the Sacred Heart for 74 years, went home to God on February 13, 2015. She was 95 years old. Sister Agnesine was born and raised in East Baltimore, the daughter of Russian immigrants, and was a member of St. Michael's Parish on Wolfe Street when she entered the Community. Her early ministry was spent with the Mission Helpers Department of Religion training adults to teach religion in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. In the 1970's, she was Director of Religious Education for the Archdiocese of Boston, and, each summer, she conducted workshops in religious education at a military base in Germany. She spent nearly 20 years in New York City as director of religious education at two large parishes and conducted training programs for the Archdiocese. She held a bachelor's degree in Sociology/Education from Notre Dame University of Maryland and a master's degree in Religious Education from Providence College in Rhode Island. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation Wednesday, February 19, 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. with a Wake Service at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 20, at 11 a.m., both at Mercy Villa, 6806 Bellona Ave., Baltimore. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sister Agnesine's memory may be sent to Mission Helpers of the Sacred Heart, 1001 W. Joppa Rd., Baltimore, MD 21204.

Dearest Sister Mary,
I was always amazed at your devotion to God and the love and caring that you always shared with family, friends and everyone you met. We will always miss you ...until we meet again.
