It's hard to believe you are gone. My heart is broken beyond words and I would give anything to have you back just long enough to tell you how much I loved you. I will remember you all the days of my life and keep your memory alive with my children. They will always remember Grampy, even little Mikey. This void in my heart will never be filled and I hope in time the tears will be replaced with memories of happy times and smiles. You will be forever in my heart. Love you dad!

To Mr. Al:
We are soo sorry you had to leave us. You were a great friend and neighbor for over 25 years. You were there for us in our times of sorrow. You always remembered us on special occasions and took us places we would never have gone, but for your kindness. You will be greatly missed and we will always remember you with great affection.

Dear Joanie,

Alan was such a wonderful man! He lived life to the fullest and truly loved you and his family. We have many fond memories of our time with him. He was so thoughtful. I'll never forget the time he pulled out the bottle of Boones Farm when we came to your house. I couldn't believe he actually went out and brought that stuff! Or when we were in Mexico and he made sure me and you got on the boat safely then off he went with the current. And the time he was helping all the kids when we were making scarecrows. He was the only one who could figure out how to keep the heads on. I could go on and on! We will truly miss Alan. He definitely did have a life well-lived!
Love Always,
Jay and Linda

"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together...there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think, but the most important thing is, even if we're apart...I'll always be with you."

I am deeply sorry to hear of of Alan's passing. Of the few times I spent together with Joanie, Alan and family, I can remember the love and laughter shared between a wonderful, outgoing, and welcoming family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God Bless

We were so sorry to hear of Alan's death. We are still in shock. We enjoyed our Baltic cruise with Joanie and Alan so much. We were looking forward to future cruises with our cruising buddies.

We found that Alan put us at ease immediately. As we all met for the first time, Alan and Joanie helped the group "gel" right away. Alan will be sorely missed.

In life a few people make a big impact on others. It may be how they treat others, how thoughtful they are of others or how they put their own needs aside to help others without giving a second thought. Al was one of these persons.

We truly enjoyed Al's company at dances, at dinner, playing card games and in Kent's case, playing golf.

If we needed help in any way, Al would have been there to offer his assistance.

Al always seemed to be very calm no matter what the problem was. He was truly a very special friend and we will miss him very much.

Alan was a man of few words, but was one you new you could count on...his sense of humor, caring heart and love of family and friends and his beautiful Joanie was never in question...he has certainly passed on his legacy to his children and grandchildren as they are also wonderful friends that I consider lucky to have in my life...I am proud to have known him and hope that I can emulate him in some small way in what he was while he was with us...he will be sorely missed by us all...

Grampy will sorely be missed by us! He was a warm and funny Grampy, a gracious and caring father in-law, and an adventurous and fun-loving father. We were truly blessed to have him in our lives if even for not long enough. Our memories of him will always be cherished in our minds and our hearts.

"What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you have passed, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget."

Words cannot express how much Al will be missed by so many. Al was a Patriot, business partner and most importantly a great friend. His love for Joanie and his family was unmatched as was his dedication to his business clients. We will stive to live up to his expectations and know he is watching with a smile on his face. Rest peacefully my friend.

Sometimes in life you meet a person for the briefest of times but the impact they make on you stays with you forever. We shared a week with Alan and Joanie on a cruise and we had a lovely time with them. Alan was a kind, caring, true gentleman and we will always remember him fondly.

I wanted to share the poem my 7 yr old daughter, Rhianna, read for her Grampy:

Tears streamed down my face, when I saw you that way.

I love you Grampy, I will love you everyday.

I know you will soon be in a happier place.

My love will follow you wherever you go. Oh how I love you so.

We did a lot together throughout the years. It's time to wipe away the tears.

I want you to know I will never let you go and I know you loved me too.

My heart will always be with you.
Now it's time to say goodbye.
We love you Grampy, away you fly.

Always happy and enthusiastic, we met Al doing contract proposal work in Austin several years ago. He was very knowledgeable in his field especially the technical and marketing aspects of the proposal business.
He successfully supported our two person proposal company by putting us to work with defense contractors who needed consultant help.
Al will be missed in offices across the country for his love of people and his kind gestures, making sure that people were rewarded for a job well done. He was truly a thoughtful and generous man; we will miss him as well.
