Albert Wilkerson Obituary

On Wednesday, January 6th, 2021, Albert R. 'Wilkie' Wilkerson, Jr., left this life after a beautiful 84 years. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathryn Hope Wilkerson; his loving children, Hope Pezzulla and her husband John, Wendy Thomas and her husband Buzzy, and Russell Wilkerson and his wife Colleen; cherished 'Grand Pop' to Zach Thomas, Abbey Thomas Manley and her husband Drew, Annie Thomas, Jack Pezzulla, Whitney Wilkerson, Reed Wilkerson, Campbell Wilkerson, Walker Wilkerson; and two great grandchildren, Wes and Mason Manley. Also survived by sister-in-law Debbie Peterson and her husband Pete; as well as nephews Billy and Scott Peterson.

A true Baltimorean, Wilkie graduated from Calvert School (1949), Gilman (1956), Colgate (1960) and Towson University where he earned his Masters in Education, followed by achieving his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore Law School. After proudly serving with the Army and National Guard, Wilkie spent the next 30 plus years teaching and coaching at Boys' Latin and the St. Paul's School for Boys. During his free time, Wilkie spread his larger than life presence to help children with learning disabilities, mastered his musical craft, was a member of the Paint and Powder Club, became an Uncle Doty's master distiller, and was one of Maryland's top blood donors with the American Red Cross.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Church of Nativity in Timonium, Maryland on Thursday, January 21st, 2021 at 11AM. Seating is limited, but the mass will be livestreamed. Interment to follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Red Cross, 4700 Mt. Hope Drive, Baltimore, MD 21215.
