I will miss Andy very much. He was a great friend and tough competitor on the tennis court. Andy's life was that of a giver and teacher. I am sure that many in the medical field are better for having known Andy. May this important legacy of giving provide his family and friends some comfort.

I loved working with Dr. Goldberg at the VA. He was passionate about his patients, research, and fought for what he believed in. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Dr. Goldberg was a dear colleague and mentor to me as a post-doc fellow at Washington University School of Medicine many years ago. Always available by phone/email for advice along my career path. Truly a privilege and honor to have known and worked with him. My deepest condolences to Gail, sons, and family. My prayers and thoughts are with you this week as you celebrate his life. Grace and peace, Greg Heath

To the Goldberg family:
Andy was a friend and colleague for over 40 years. I graduated from Downstate one year ahead of him and had a parallel path of training in End/Metab on the west coast and studying diabetes and lipids thereafter. We saw each other every year of so and always had great conversations about family, life, medicine. He was a pioneer in gerontology and had an outstanding career. He was a 'good guy' and deserved better than this. My deepest condolences to all of you.
