Anne Berman Obituary

Anne Levin Berman, of Pikesville, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, at the age of 77. She is survived by her beloved husband Barry Ronald Berman, D.D.S.; loving children Jessica Berman Kaufman, Esq. (Joshua Michael Kaufman), Sara Berman Charen (Jonathan David Charen, MD), and Joshua Adam Berman (Jennifer Spiegel Berman, Esq.); adoring grandchildren Zachary David Kaufman, Noah Benjamin Kaufman, Brendan Cole Charen, Samuel "Sam" Riley Charen, Jacob "Jack" Lewis Berman, and Abigail Rose Berman; brother-in-law Jerry Glickson, as well as cousins Allen and Shelley Glushakow, Edwin and Mary Friedman, Rabbi Stanley Levin, Manny and Sharon Levin, Gail and Sam Weingram, Mindy Caplan, and Joanne and Patrick Forrest; by her beloved dog Lola; and also survived by many more loving family and friends. She was predeceased by her devoted parents Jacob "Jack" and Bernice Levin, her cherished sister Leslie Levin Glickson, her Aunt and Uncle Hilda and Nathan Glushakow, her parents-in-law Harry and Anna Berman, her brother-in-law Morris "Macy" Sheldon Berman, and her sister-in-law Judith Marion Berman.

Anne's life took a meaningful turn when her future brother-in-law Macy and her sister Leslie arranged a blind date that introduced her to the love of her life, Barry Berman. She was a proud 1968 graduate of the University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in English. Anne spent a lifetime putting her editing and writing talents to good use, lovingly proofreading the writing of friends and family and even helping Barry shape his dental school thesis. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, finding her greatest joy in raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren. Anne loved to travel, was an avid and thoughtful reader, and never stepped out of the house without presenting her best self to the world. She appreciated a good glass of wine, embraced every opportunity to shop, and lived with a generosity of heart and spirit that touched everyone around her. Deeply committed to her faith, she served as president of Har Sinai Congregation and proudly championed Judaism and Israel whenever she had the chance. The world is a better place because she was in it, she will be missed dearly by all who were lucky enough to have known her. May her memory be a blessing always.
