Charles Steinhauser Obituary
On December 3, 2013, Charles Steinhauser; beloved husband of Susan Steinhauser (nee Goldstein); loving father of Morgan Steinhauser; devoted brother of Fred (Janice) Steinhauser and Larry (Ann) Steinhauser. Charles, a lifelong Baltimorean, was an avid musician playing bass guitar with numerous bands in the Baltimore area for the past 48 years. Additionally, he was a classic car collector and loved antique car shows. He ran Accurate Builders, Inc. for the past 30 plus years. Charles was a lover of nature, horses and his beloved dogs.
Services and interment will be held at Riverdale Cemetery - Columbus, GA. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to American Cancer Society, 8219 Town Center Drive, Baltimore, MD 21236 and HopeWell Cancer Support, P.O. Box 755, Brooklandville, MD 21022. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 4-6pm at Supano's Steakhouse, 110 Water Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.

Charles was our favorite yoga buddy at the jcc. He was always upbeat and made us smile and if he wasn't in class he was missed.
I do want to mention how much he loved his daughter . He was so very proud of her.

Ib the time we knew CXharlie, the thing we knew most, is that we wanted to know more of him. He offered kind and thought provoking tidbits that could bring into focus the meaning of life. We wish you our deepest condolences and truly wish we had shared more with this man than we did. He made my journey a little easier. We will miss him. Linda & Drew Pilarski

I knew Charles rom yoga classes at the "J". He knew I also have done battle with BC, and he was so kind to me. The last time I saw him, not very long ago, I was so glad to see him and gave him a big hug! (So glad I did.) He looked good, had just finished his restorative yoga class. He took the time to ask me how I was and we had a good conversation. I asked him about his music, and his response was, "Oh yeah, you've got to keep playing the music!"
He saw beauty in so many ordinary things. The time I brought my son to a yoga class, Charles took him right under his wing, pointing out that "Where else can you go and be one of the only guys in the room with so many good looking women?" Made Josh laugh and relax.
I loved Charles. Ellen Beth dedicated our yoga class to him this past Sunday.
I think he would have liked that.

Charles brought much joy to Mark and me (Jennifer). Mark loved playing in band gigs with Charlie, and we much appreciated the good work he did with Accurate Builders for our home. But most of all we loved talking with Charlie, and sharing thoughts about the wonders of the universe, the values of life, and the sources of faith and hope. We are so grateful for his life.

Charles was one of the most upbeat, positive, friendly and kind people I ever met. He truly cared about people and lived life with gusto. He was a joy to have in my yoga classes and I always hoped he would get well enough to return. Susan and Morgan--please accept my sympathy at this difficult time.

Charlie would walk into the JCC Fitness Center and light it up. He was so upbeat and was an inspiration to all of us.I use to call him King Zeus as he was so buff,handsome and had incredible long flowing white hair.We will all miss him and his beautiful spirit but will keep him with us in thought forever. May G-D give you Morgan and Susan strength through this tremendously difficult time. Charlie is now our angel looking over you both.

Charlie was an inspiration to all of us here at the JCC Fitness Center- always upbeat, helping others, and happy to see you. He never stopped working out during his treatments and inspired all of us to never give up, especially fellow members with cancer who looked to him for support.I used to call him Handsome King Zeus-he was handsome,buff with long flowing white hair and respected by all. We adored Charlie here at the JCC. He lit up our fitness center when he came in. Always so upbeat and friendly. I loved that twinkle in his eyes. I used to call him Handsome King Zeus as he reminded me of Zeus himself -very handsome, buff with long flowing white hair.We have lost a wonderful man and heaven has gained an angel.We will meet again dear friend!

Charles never practiced life ... he lived it. He layed down the rhythm for all of us to follow as a basis for our harmony. Out of gratitude for his enduring strength, dignity, and compassion we all carry on his passion for music and well-living. The low notes guide us, even in the absence of direction.
My condolences to Charles's family, friends, fellow musicians and the community.
