Dorothy Gum Obituary

74, passed away peacefully at home after a long chronic kidney disease in Aberdeen, Maryland.

Born in Havre de Grace, Maryland - 11/25/1949 - 1/1/24.

Parents - Thomas Buckley Abbott and Bernadeen Jobes Abbott.

Predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, James A. Gum.

Survived by her three devoted sons: James, David and Donald Gum.

James's children, Jessica and Jessie Dobbins (four great grandchildren), Nathan; his children Aubree Lynn Chatterton, Laney Aubree Chatterton, Lilah Ray Chatterton and son and daughter of James; James Author Gum and Alexis Marie Gum.

From David; David and Brittney Nicole Gum.

From Donald and wife Colette, Ashley, Brianna and Brendan Gum.

Sisters of Dottie: Annette Abbott Lawson (son Jack & Peggy) and Cynthia Abbott Evans, husband Nick (sons Jacob & Toby) and her beloved yellow lab Penny.

She is greatly missed and was sincerely loved throughout her good life. Her love of a wide array of creative crafts and beautiful gardening fun not to mention the best home grown tomatoes and the sauce, so good.

Adventures with companion and loving husband Jim. They experienced many trips together that include: Aruba diving in the Caribbean, motorcycle rides, boating, fishing and everyone enjoyed her specialty dishes: crab cakes, wild goose, wild duck and seafood delights.

Celebration of Life has been scheduled at the American Legion Hall located at 44 West St in Aberdeen Md from 6-9 PM on March 8.
