My mom had surgery for a double breast mastectomy at JHH .. Dr. Lewison was her surgeon.. it was just the beginning of Oncology (1966) unfortunately it wasn´t caught early enough ... Dr. Lewison kept her alive for 5 years .. I was 13 at the time... i wrote a letter to Dr Lewison and he wrote a letter back to me telling me how brave my mom was .. I treasured that letter and unfortunately it was lost through the years with moving around .. I´m now 71 and still miss her .. I will always remember the kind words she had for Dr Lewison and the 5 extra years we had with mom .. G-d bless his soul and may he rest in peace.

It was 1966 ... I was 12 years old when Dr. Lewison operated on my Mom .... I´m sure he did everything he could to help her ... she lasted for 5 years ... she was 51 when she passed .. I wrote a letter to Dr. Lewison wanting to know why she was not getting better and the pain she was having ... he wrote me back telling me how difficult her sickness was and how brave she was ... sadly through the years the letter was lost ... I´m 68 now and have never forgot about that letter and Dr. Lewison

I was a young teenager and he was a wonder doctor, very competant, reassuring, and professional. He helped me a great deal. He will be missed.

Dr. Lewison was a great, generous and kind man. He was a friend who will be missed but never forgotten. My long distance hug goes to Betty and the family. Stay strong, Ed would have expected no less. See you soon.
