Edwin PRATHER Obituary
On May 8, 2016, Edwin Russell Prather, age 87, of Edgewood, MD passed away. Beloved husband of Louise Mary Prather; devoted father of Russell Prather, Charles Prather (the late Janice), Gregory Prather (Deborah), Linda Williamson (Guy), Grace Snyder (Albert) and the late Tony Prather (Patsy); loving brother of Joyce Givens and Sue Marks. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at McComas Funeral Home, P.A. in Abingdon, MD on Thursday May 12, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Edgewood, MD on Friday, May 13 at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Harford Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060. Condolences may be sent through the guestbook at mccomasfuneralhome.com.

My first real memory of Uncle Russell is my brother Jimmy saying to me under the dining room table, "That's Uncle Russell Carol!", as I looked in thru the living room at the white bearded man in the red suit sitting in our chair on Christmas Eve. Such a Calm, Quiet and kind man with an infectious smile. I remember spending days in the summertime in Edgewood at Uncle Russell's and Aunt Weeze's learning to playing pool, buying sodas and walking to the marina to get candy from the store. Say Hi to Dad and Mom for me and thank you for some great childhood memories.
