Eston "Chick" Wyatt

WYATT , Eston "Chick" On February 15, 2010, Eston "Chick" Wyatt , of Perry Hall, passed away peacefully at his home. His daughter, Theresa E.M. Derry; three week old granddaughter Olive; and devoted friend were by his side. Eston was 92 years old. He was cared for by the devoted staff of Gilchrist Hospice during his final days. He requested his body be donated to the Anatomy Board of the State of Maryland. He was the devoted father of Susan Wheatley, Marjorie Lubin, and Theresa E. Derry and step-father of Carolyn Murray of Florida, and the late Bert Sikorsky of Baltimore; loving grandfather of Olive Mary Louise Derry, Casey Lubin, Ryan, Nicole, and Michael Delodovico, Lt. Commander Kim Wheatley USCG, and the late Marc Wheatley; dear brother of Evelyn Matthews, Freda Schulz, and the late Trecie, Virgil and Lawrence Wyatt; also survived by several great-grandchildren, many relatives and friends. His faithful and constant companion "Ras," a Japanese Chin, misses him immensely. Eston served a total of 37 years in the US Military. He served in the US Army in WWII, where he received five bronze stars and the Purple Heart. He later resumed his Military service with the US Air Force Reserve at Martins Air Force Base in Middle River. He retired from the Air Force Reserve in 1977 with the rank of TSG. Eston was an avid reader. He enjoyed history, boxing, cars, car racing, guns, and telling jokes. He loved Princess Diana and spent many hours reading about her life.
A memorial service honoring Eston's life will be held at Camp Chapel United Methodist Church, 5000 Joppa Rd., Perry Hall, MD 21128, on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 1:30 PM.
