I knew Doctor Lewis, but not well. The last time we spoke was just before Memorial Day in 2021. He saw me putting fresh flags on the graves of my uncles that were Veterans. He asked me if I had a spare flag for another grave. When I said yes, he led me to the side-by-side grave where Mrs. Lewis was laid to rest. A bit confused I asked if his wife was a Veteran. He said "No, but I am". So I told him I´d put a flag there but told not to be so impatient and assured him he would be added to my list of flag recipients once he was eligible. He laughed but thanked me. I will be putting a fresh flag on Doctor Lewis´ grave this Memorial Day. What a great guy.

Dr. Lewis was a one of a kind -- the first vet I went to when I moved to Howard County in 1973 and enjoying him and Mary Agnes at our company holiday parties and other events. Sincere sympathy to the family in the loss of this wonderful person. He will have many friends waiting for him at the Rainbow Bridge!

Deepest sympathy to all the Lewis family.
Doc was a 'Giant' in our profession and was an inspiration, who set the bar high for all that were privileged to have known him. He can rest in peace for a life well lived.

My deepest condolences to another amazing vet, Dr. Rick Lewis and you entire family. How wonderful to have enjoyed the presence of this wonderful father for so long. He sounded like a truly beautiful man, and I'm sure he will be dearly missed.
