George Bernard Tredway

1945 - 2025

George Bernard Tredway, 79 years, of Conowingo, MD, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025 in the Christiana Care Union Hospital of Elkton, MD. Born December 18, 1945 in San Luis Obispo, CA, he was the son of the late Carmen Dempster and Margaret Louise Denniff Tredway.

Mr. Tredway was a veteran of the U.S. Army, later enlisting in the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam era, and retiring as a major after 27 years of service. He was an avid falconer for more than 45 years and a life-long hunter. He was a man of great integrity, a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

He was a member of the North American Falconers Association, the Pennsylvania Falconry Association, the Shriners, and the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry. Mr. Tredway was formerly employed by the Harford County Public School District as Planetarium Director and Middle School Science teacher.

Mr. Tredway is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Judith A. Tredway; son, Kenneth L. Tredway; daughter, Dawn R. Tredway Sauer; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sister, Nora Lessard, as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Tredway was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Hess.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or Tunnel to Towers in care of Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 18, 2025, 3 PM, at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., of Perryville, MD. Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, 2 PM until 3 PM, at the funeral home. Pastor Michael A. Caldwell of the Asbury Church of Port Deposit, MD, will officiate. Interment will be private.
