Georgia R. Snodgrass

Georgia R. Snodgrass, 93, of Bel Air, Maryland, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, September 26, 2025. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late August "Auggie" Goetz and Bertha Frances (Parkhurst) Goetz.

Georgia was a member of Mountain Christian Church in Joppa, Maryland, and grew up attending Fork Christian Church. A proud graduate of Towson High School, she completed her studies a year early in 1948 and went on to earn her associate degree from Harford Community College.

In 1960, Georgia married her late husband, A. Edward Snodgrass Jr., and together they built a home in Glenwood, in Bel Air, where she lived for the remainder of her life. A true entrepreneur and trailblazer in her field, Georgia, along with her husband, Ed, opened a real estate business in 1976: Snodgrass Realtors, Better Homes and Gardens, located on Emmorton Road. She was deeply dedicated to her profession, achieving multiple advanced certifications, including Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), and a Graduate, of REALTOR® Institute (GRI) designation.

Georgia was a woman of many passions and talents. She loved music, theatre, dancing, reading, painting, gardening, loved old farm houses and history and was an avid antique collector, frequenting local auctions. A faithful viewer of The Golden Girls, and I Love Lucy, she also enjoyed playing the lottery and was known for her warm heart and abundant generosity-especially toward animals and the less fortunate. She never met a stray she didn't love and they loved her back.

Her appreciation for the arts and history ran deep. She loved attending Broadway shows in her younger years and was a loyal supporter of the local theater scene-where she would eventually meet her second husband, Eddie. A dedicated member of the Harford County Historical Society, she had a particular fondness for family trips to Colonial Williamsburg.

Georgia adored babies and children who gave her so much joy throughout her life. She loved being a mother and grandmother, and felt so blessed to be able to help raise her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, A. Edward Snodgrass, Jr., her first husband, Dr. Jim Thomison, daughters Barbara J. Magness and Carol Anne Sissom; her sister, Margaret Pharr; her brother, Sgt. Lewis Pharr Sr.; and her parents.

She is survived by her daughters, M. Lisa Snodgrass; Laura Snodgrass-Pohlenz (Scott), her grandchildren, M. Alexander (Maribeth) Magness, Connor A. Sissom, Tara Sissom Pittaro (Donnie), Lily Frances Pohlenz, and Mary Parker Pohlenz; and great-grandchild, Abigail Byrne Magness.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 PM at McComas Family Funeral Homes, in Bel Air. Graveside service will take place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00AM at Mountain Christian Church Cemetery.
