Gladys Keithley Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gladys Marie Keithley, who left this world peacefully on September 26, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on September 9, 1931, in Bel Air, Maryland, Gladys dedicated her life to nurturing her family and creating a loving home. She was a devoted homemaker and cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Gladys is survived by her beloved niece, Carol Thompson, and her three grandchildren, Ruth Gill, Tiffany Keithley, and Karen Keithley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Keithley, Sr., her father, Nelson Baker,Sr., her mother, Ida Marie Baker, her children, Deborah Keithley, Stanley M. Keithley, Jr, and Paul Daniel Keithley, her brother, Nelson Baker, Jr., and her sister, Margaret Waldren. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will forever reside in the hearts of those who knew her. Mrs. Keithley was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a Life-long member of St. John's Episcopal Church, celebrating 90 years of membership. She served on the Alter Guild and taught Sunday School. Mrs. Keithley love Elvis Presley, the Baltimore Ravens crafting, knitting, and reading. She also enjoyed visiting the senior center and playing BINGO there. Mrs. Keithley also was an Auxiliary member of the VFW. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gladys's life and to pay their respects during a public visitation at St. John's Episcopal Church, 114 North Union Avenue, Havre de Grace, MD, on October 2, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at the church at 12:00 PM, where we will gather to honor the remarkable woman she was.
Following the service, she will be laid to rest in a peaceful location at Harford Memorial Gardens. As we come together to remember Gladys, let us carry her spirit of love and compassion into our own lives. In this time of mourning, we also remember the joyous moments we were fortunate to share with Gladys, whose warmth and generosity will be profoundly missed. May she rest in eternal peace. Contributions may be made in her memory to St. John's Episcopal Church.
