Hildegard L. Campbell

1921 - 2018

Hildegard L. Campbell of Aberdeen died Saturday, June 23 at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson. She was 96. Born in Mannheim, Germany she was the daughter of the late Fritz and Antonie (Miriesch) Foeke and wife of the late John W. Campbell. A homemaker, she enjoyed knitting, however, gardening was her passion! The longer the root, the more she loved it! The grandchildren and the neighborhood children flocked around her because she always had a piece of candy for them. She enjoyed her German "koffee klatches"with her friends. She is survived by her children; Ingrid Kupferman and husband Ron of Aberdeen and Johnny Campbell and wife Gail of Colorado Springs, CO; son-in-law, George Callas and wife Maria; grandchildren, Jason Callas, Christopher Callas, Lisa Lewis and Michael Kupferman and wife Brenna; great grandchildren, Allison and Emily Lewis and Tesher Kupferman; her sister Erika Zipf of Mannheim, Germany and niece and nephews, Helma Gallasch and Wolfgeng and Bernhard Zipf. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her daughter, Elfriede Callas and sister, Elfriede Lichteblau. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 28th from 3-5pm at the Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home where a memorial service will begin at 5:00pm. Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
