Howard Klein Obituary
He was predeceased by the love of his life, Marian (Helzner) Klein; his parents Nettie and Jacob Klein; and siblings Shirley Berger, Gertrude Caplan, Flora Keyes and Adele Kallins. He was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Chuck was a tremendous athlete his entire life, drafted by professional baseball as a teen, hitting winners down the alley on the tennis court into his late 80's, and smacking wiffle ball line drives with his great-grandkids in his 90's. He cut the rug to his favorite big band songs. He treasured his days at Camp Cody where he developed life-long friendships. His grandkids and then great-grandkids were always excited to see him, and he loved the smiles he got from sneaking them pieces of candy, pulling silver dollars from their ears, drawing them beautiful pictures, and just being with them. His family was everything to him
Services are private. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to The Park School, 2425 Old Court Road, Baltimore, MD 21208.

Dear Dar, Jer, Stan, Paulette, Annie, Jamie, Jacob, spouses and children,
I'm so, so sorry for your loss. Uncle Chuck was one of the finest people I had the pleasure of knowing. Always happy to see you, kind and smiling. Such a warm and genuine man. I remember going to Aunt Marian and Uncle Chuck's for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. You all were so kind and welcoming. Those are some of my fondest and most cherished memories. You have no idea how much your past kindness means to me even now. You all will always have a special place in my heart. Knowing Uncle Chuck was a privilege. Keeping you in my thoughts during this most sad time.

I am saddened to hear of Chuck's passing. I worked with him at the Pollock-Blum store on Howard and Saratoga Streets in the early to mid 1980s. We were there for the store's closing. Chuck was a wonderful person and amused us with his stories of managing a store in downtown Baltimore. One involved him jumping over the office counter to chase someone out of the store. I still think of him often.

Chuck is the kind of man I would want to aspire to be. If I could select one work to describe Chuck it would be Father. He exemplified fatherhood. I wised I had a father like him.
