My Poppop was "a good ol´ boy", simple on the fact that he loved the outdoors: shooting skeet, trap, clay pigeons, or out on the water fishing. He´s famous for being known to catch the biggest, and the most amount of rockfish out of all the other men on the river. He loved to tinker in his tackle room, and tie his own darts, and make his own lures. He taught/coached many a men how to play baseball/softball, football, and how to fish. He was one of a kind, and loved and respected by many...

He put family above everything; and loved his wife (my mommom) of 64 years, his two sons, his 4 granddaughters, and his 8 great grandchildren more than life itself. And nothing could ever be said to steer him from his values and morals. Stubborn as they come, but a big old teddy bear to those who knew him. He radiated love to those he cared about, and even had a helping hand for the downtrodden.

James Finley Boyd Sr. IS a local town legend and will NEVER be forgotten, he will be greatly missed. His family will do their best to make his memory live on into the future.
