Family and friends may call at THE JOHNSON FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 8521 Loch Raven Blvd. (Beltway exit 29-B) on Thursday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 P.M., where all are invited to attend a Prayer Service at 6 P.M. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Mike's memory to Cystic-Fibrosis Foundation-MD Chapter, 10616 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville, MD 21030. I loved working with Mike at Loch Raven Library. He was always upbeat and very tech savvy. I still talk about the time he wanted to go to Fells Point with me to hang out with my son Mike and his then girlfriend, now wife and some of their friends. He was excited to be able to go to a bar and hang out since they became smoke free. I can’t believe that was over 11 years ago. God Bless

I will always remember working with Mike at the LO library! He was great on the computers and I loved our conversations.
My son Mike and I still talk about the time he went to Fells Point with us. We all had a fun time. Blessings to the Laird family

Mike - Simply said, you'll be missed. I will always admire your attitude, your fight to live a normal life and the fact you didn’t complain when you had every reason to do so. Our last conversation you asked me how I felt because of recent health issues I’ve been having...a man who has suffered his whole life worried about how I felt. You were a great guy. RIP and I hope if heaven is what you make it to be then you are on the bridge of a star ship.

I had the pleasure of seeing Mike when he was admitted to the hospital. I was deeply saddened to learn that he'd passed away. I will always remember his special smile, and his ability to laugh in the midst of the most trying of circumstances. A real blessing!

I can't quite believe Mike is gone. I have a habit of checking my online friends looking for my fried Mike. such a great guy! I have 4 candles lit for mike and I am praying for his mom & dad. I know he was very close to them. God Bless

even though i never met you in person i was so grateful to have you as my good friend. Whenever i had a problem with my cystic fibrosis i would call you up and you would calm me down and have an answer right away. Thank Mike! I know you are seeing your friends and loved ones again. I know you are singing karaoke and playing trivia. Those were your favorite things to do. I will never forget you, mike! "Namaste"

Mike was a delightful, beautiful soul. I'm happy to have known him. Mike's mom is my godmother & my mom was Mike's godmother. He's the reason I took my first flight on an airplane. He was there to celebrate my college graduation. He was wise beyond his years and so kind. He will always be a reason to cherish every moment. Love, Meg

I haven't seen Mike since my 5 yr. reunion but chatted with him lots on Facebook. We'll miss our chats. Wish we would've been able to get together, I know he was trying hard to get the Parkville 91ers together. My condolences to Mike's parent's and family. He will be missed.

I met Mike at trivia with my daughter, Erica, Bridget's best friend. We shared conversations, especially about our travels. Mike so enjoyed showing me his pictures. I know he is resting in peace in a better place.

Dear Jim: I was so sorry to read the paper today and see the obituary about your son Mike. There are no words that can make you feel any better right now and I know that. Just know that my prayers are for your comfort and for your peace. You have to know that you and your wife were wonderful, caring and giving people and you had the most special of relationships with your son. It was very evident in the way you spoke of him when we talked and when you would share stories about what he was doing. My mother had two special children, they had muscular dystrophy, and she had the most special of relationships with them too. Unbreakable bonds! Be strong in each other knowing that you two had this wonderful angel all of these years and he made a big difference in this world.

My heart goes out to the family of Mike. He was such an extraordinary guy. I enjoyed working with Mike on Fridays at Loch Raven. The most memorable experience with Mike was when he went to Fells Point with me to celebrate my oldest son's birthday. We all had such a great time. Mike will truly be missed!!
