Janet Rudolph Obituary

Janet Rudolph (nee Singer) passed away at the age of 90. She is survived by her children, Michael (Sheryle) Rudolph, Elayne Rudolph, and Cheryl (Earl) Rudolph Suitor; her sister Judy (Ken) Singer Frohlich; and her grandchildren Riley Akiyama, Hollie Rudolph, Brendan McGrath, and Daniel McGrath. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lee Rudolph to whom she was married for 65 years; and her parents, Joseph and Esther Singer.

The arts were a source of joy and inspiration for Janet. She delighted in ballet performances and evenings at the theater. She was not only an admirer of beauty and art of all types but a creator of it. Using the Singer sewing machine once belonging to her mother, she stitched life into fabric making beautiful clothes. She also crafted dolls of remarkable intricacy and gave these away as expressions of love. In addition, Janet enjoyed collecting antique dolls.

Janet's warmth, strength and proficiency were seen in many areas of her life. At just twenty-three, after the passing of her mother, she stepped into a role far greater than her years guiding her younger sister, then only thirteen, with a nurturing hand. From that moment forward she was not only a sister but a mother figure, shaping Judy's life with care and devotion. Her entire family remembers Janet as a great cook. They also remember the great warmth she always extended to all visitors to their home. Over 40 years ago when Janet's husband decided to open his own business, she stepped right in, assisting and supporting the company as his Office Manager.

A graveside service will be held at Baltimore Hebrew Cemetery, 318 Berrymans Lane, Reisterstown, Maryland 21136 on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Those who wish to honor Janet's memory may do so through contributions to the Baltimore Humane Society, 1601 Nicodemus Road, Reisterstown, Maryland 21136 or to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington D.C. 20090-6011

Janet's legacy is one of warmth, artistry and strength. She leaves behind not only her family and her handmade creations but also the example of a life lived with grace. Her memory will endure with love in the hearts of all who knew her.
