Jeaneen Ellen Brady Wingate

Jeaneen Brady Wingate, 95, of Stoneleigh, Calvert School's founding librarian, died peacefully at home of natural causes, surrounded by family. Born May 31, 1930, in Baltimore, she graduated from Eastern High School and Goucher College and earned a master's in library science from Towson University. In 1951 she married her hometown sweetheart, Elmer H. Wingate Jr.; they shared 64 years of marriage until his death in 2016. Mrs. Wingate served 27 years at Calvert School, building its library from the ground up, and earlier worked in the Stoneleigh School library. A devoted volunteer, she supported Barclay Elementary/Middle School and GBMC Hospital and served on the Altar Guild at Grace United Methodist Church. She is survived by sons Ken, Paul, and David; and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 7, 2025, at 3 p.m., at Grace United Methodist Church, 5407 N.
