Friends may call at the family-owned MITCHELL-WIEDEFELD FUNERAL HOME INC., 6500 York Rd. (at Overbrook) on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, 10:45 AM, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church (Govans). Interment Baltimore National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 5502 York Rd., Baltimore, MD 21212.

I am so sorry to hear of Joan's death.
She gave a lot of her time and heart to her family and her church family at St. Mary's. As a newly arrived immigrant and staff member at St. Mary', she made it all so much easier. Hundreds of First Holy Communion children are blessed with rosaries she insisted I buy + she 'requested' the Soldality and Reparation societies pay for! Her humility and grace will truly be missed.
