John Creamer

John Joseph Creamer, (1928-2017) John Creamer, 88, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2017 at Westminster Winter Park. John was born in Baltimore, Md., on December 6, 1928 to Joseph and Mary Helen Paszkiewicz Creamer. John's life was fueled by a quest for learning through both formal education and daily pursuits. He completed undergraduate and pharmacy degrees at the University of Maryland, College Park. He received his medical degree from the New York Medical College in New York, class of 1960 and served his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Maryland Hospital. He served as chief of the Ophthalmology Section at South Baltimore Hospital from 1976 to 1986. He is past president of the Maryland Ophthalmological Society and the Maryland Lake Shore Rotary Club. After his retirement, his passion for learning continued. He helped develop a chart for the early detection of red-green color blindness. He remained active in community organizations, traveling, gardening, and book clubs even after losing most of his eyesight. He was a lifelong fisherman and spent many years fishing and boating on the Atlantic Ocean, and Chesapeake Bay. John is survived by his children Michael Creamer and his wife Robin, Maitland, Fl.; and Ann Pankow and her husband Ken, Flint Hill, Va. He was a devoted grandfather to Anne Elise and Carson Creamer, and Christine and Kimberly Pankow. His former wives also survive him, Frances Gehrlein Weston the mother of his children, and Judith Crawford Creamer. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. March 18, 2017 at Maitland Presbyterian Church, 341 North Orlando Ave, Fl. Family and Friends are invited.
