John Ignatius LEAHY Sr.

On Sunday, February 15, 2026, John Ignatius Leahy, Sr. of Lutherville, Maryland passed away peacefully; beloved husband of the late Nancy Buseman Leahy; current husband to Mary (June) Reiter Leahy; father of John I. Leahy, Jr. and his wife, Kim; Stephen P. Leahy and his wife, Sharon; Robert R. Leahy and his wife, Kathy; the late Thomas K. Leahy; Brigid Leahy Fischer and her husband, Chuck and Patrick F. Leahy and his wife, Amy. Also, proudly survived by 16 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and counting.

Born to the late Vincent Joseph Leahy Sr. and Helen Ritter Leahy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Twin brother to the late Vincent J. Leahy Jr. Twins were oldest brothers to their younger siblings including the late brother Ronald A. Leahy, the late sister Mary Leahy Flaherty and her late twin sister Ellen Leahy, surviving brother Gerald V. Leahy and surviving sister Annette Leahy Maggitti and her late twin sister, Annie Leahy, who died at birth.

Friends may call at the Immaculate Conception Church, 200 Ware Ave, Towson, on Friday 3/13, from 10:00 to 10:30AM with Mass of Christian Burial starting at 10:30AM. Inurnment to follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Stella Maris Hospice 2300 Dulaney Valley Road Timonium, MD 21093.
