Hello.. I am the youngest of 6. Johnny, Alma, Jimmy, Anne, Stephen and me, Sally. I miss my whole family so very much. Johnny, thank you for piping our sister home! The day before my sister passed, she pointed and said "I hear bagpipes" who's there, she said. Of course, it had to be you our loving brother, coming to pipe my sister Anne home! Her husband, Jim Napier, even said he heard her ask this and said she heard the bagpipes! It was very surreal! I love and miss you Johnny and all my siblings, mom and dad too!! Rest in Peace! John was the best friend a guy could ever have. We have been best of friends since we served together in the 19th Special Forces. John and I spent many good times together, I loved him like a brother. He will be greatly missed, and always loved. Until we meet again. Chad, Michael and Gregory - He was the best, remember always how your Dad lived his life, not how he lost it.

In honor of a departed brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Like all spirited brothers of the Golden Heart, he answered the challenge of the Fraternity with virtue and diligence by filling his appropriate place in his family, in his community, and in our Fraternity.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Chad and the rest of the McCruden Clan.

I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of John. I knew he was very ill and am certain he is playing the pipes in Heaven. When I was with the Baltimore City Fire Department Color Guard, John was a great help in every facet of our operations. He never turned down a request for assistance, he was one fine gentleman. I will miss him greatly and wish the best to his family in their time of need.

I would just like to say that my heart really breaks for Michael, Chad, Greg and Liz. Johnny was my "Big" brother and I loved him very much. I am happy for him now that he is in God's loving arms and that he will not be alone. He struggled and fought to stay on this earth, to be with his loved ones. My brother "is" loved by many and gave to the very end. God Bless you Johnny and God bless his family!
UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN...Sally Lou

My thoughts and prayers go with the McCruden family. I've worked with John on many occasions at various police and fire department funerals and ceremonies. I will always remember his piping and cheerful personnality. God Bless.
