John Nunnally Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John Brett Nunnally, son of the late John Edward Nunnally and Doris Nunnally. Brett passed away peacefully at his home in Perry Hall, Maryland on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at the age of 65 with his family by his side. The youngest of three children, Brett was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 21, 1959. Brett, along with his brother Mark, was the fourth generation of Nunnallys to own and operate Nunnally Bros. in the Cross Street Market. He worked in the family business immediately after high school until his recent illness. He was well known in the Baltimore community as a generous man and beloved friend and will be greatly missed by many. He was an avid sports fan and loved the Orioles and Ravens, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Brett is survived by his brother Mark Nunnally and his wife, Mary, his sister, Nancy Miles, and nieces Courtney McAuliffe and her husband, Drew, Chelsea Miller and her husband, Alex, Paige Tester, and nephew Chad Nunnally and his fiancé, Georgia Mundy, and great-nieces Sophie and Quinn McAuliffe and Mackenzie Miller. He is also survived by step-children, Marcella Nolan and her partner Clyde Russell, their children Kayleigh, Dylan and Kendall, and Joshua Nolan and his son, Max, and Thomas Nolan. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.

Brett was an extraordinary friend who brought immeasurable joy, laughter, and warmth into my life. Over forty years of friendship, we shared countless memories, cherished moments, and a bond that time could never erase. Words cannot fully express how much his presence will be missed.

Grief is the price of love, and the sorrow we feel now is a testament to how much Brett meant to all who knew him. His humor, kindness, and super fun spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, the laughter we shared, the adventures we treasured, and the light he brought into every room will keep his memory alive forever.

Rest easy, dear friend. Your legacy of fun, love and laughter will never be forgotten. Love you dude!! Your pal Fred

I remember passing the stall in the market and everyone was always so cordially. Losing someone so kind is indeed a great loss. Please treasure the memories that you shared together and remember the words of the Psalmist...."God is near to those that are broken at heart and those crushed in spirit.
Sincerely,

Mary Gentry
