I will always remember my Uncle John.I will never forget the time he let me put barrett pony tail in his hair when I was little. I will miss seeing him again. Love to all of you. Tina

I was saddened to learn of John's passing. He was a true Christian gentleman, a first-class musician, and a great teacher. He surely had a positive impact on my organ playing during the four years I studied with him at Illinois State University. I thank God for him, for his kindness to me as a young college student, and for allowing our paths to cross along life's way. My life has certainly been enriched by John Terwilliger. I'm looking forward to a grand reunion with him in heaven!

John at one of his finest moments ... at the Mighty Wurlitzer. We all miss you, John.

That's very sad news. He was a great guy and a gentleman of the old school. It only follows that he also played the tuba. Great teacher seconded.

Mr. Terwilliger was a great mentor to my father, Fred King helping finish requirements for his B.S. in Music Education. Dad and I sang under John in the "summer choirs" at Towson State College. I also remember an inspired "Hodie" by RVW at Towson Methodist with John Hoffman. Thank you for the musical memories!

I studied vocal and choral music with Mr. Terwilliger from 1968 through 1978 and have maintained the highest regard for him as a person, musician, and instructor. Getting to spend an hour with him several years ago was an unexpected blessing. He truly was a Christian gentleman and I share your sadness and loss, but also share your hope in a heavenly reunion with him in the presence of Jesus Our Savior and Lord.

We are deeply saddened at the news of John's passing. He was very special to us, particularly me and I know the world is a better place having had him for 82 years.
