I've known John ever since we moved into River Hill. My daughter was diagnosed with diabetes and he was always friendly and helpful. When my son was diagnosed as well he was quick to notice and give an apology. He always seemed deeply concerned with the health of my children -- not only that he would single me out ... say hello and inquire about my life. He was definitely a genuinely kind and caring individual. I'm blessed to have known him and sad I was not able to say goodbye ...

To a wonderful brother-in-law, father, and great all-around guy, you are dearly missed by all who were fortunate to know you! You will remain in both, Christina and Andrew's hearts forever...

John was our families's pharmacist for over a decade. He trained and worked with our son who was a technician at the pharmacy in his high school years. They grew close and shared much .Throughout the years, he was always a source of support and kindness. His smile radiated to others and he always greeted us with open joy. He would ask about family members who were ill and share joy in the events of our lives. John became our friend and a wonderful person to look forward to see. We will miss him terribly.
Over the years, John's love, pride and devotion to his children was so evident to us. We all send our love and condolences to them and to his whole family for this huge loss.
Most sincerely,
The Madiou Family

I was shocked and saddened to hear of John's passing. He was a good man, a special person, caring and compassionate to everyone he came in contact. I appreciate the comfort and joy he gave my mom Bonnie during her illness. He lit up her face and gave her happiness and hope during her difficult journey. Bonnie's family will never forget him and his kindness and love he shared. His spirit lives on through all he has touched. My prayers are for Christina and Andrew that they will always feel him close and know how proud he is of them. May your dad John's love for you warm your hearts eternally.

I was so saddened to hear about John's passing. I wish I could have let him know what a special person he was. I was a Giant pharmacy customer for several years and John always made it feel like I was stopping by to visit a friend. He knew me and my family by name and always asked about us. His smiling face will be truly missed.

I just found out our dear neighbor from years ago,John Vaccacio had recently died. What a loss to so many people. I remember him as a fun loving person who adored his children. They lived next to us in Ellicott City and I helped babysit the kids when needed. When Andrew was born, I watched little Christina. His kids were his life. I will never forget the joy they gave him. John and my son were true Yankee fans. They could talk for hours about the team. My son was so happy that there was a Yankee fan living next to us. I am so sorry I did not know about his recent illness or that he had died. We sent Christmas cards to each other but he never said anything about himself. I hope Christina and Andrew will always know what a fine man their father was. May he rest in peace. Goodbye Neighbor.

A gentler soul never existed!
And that smile!-- his whole face smiled: mouth, eyes, eyebrows, cheeks, ears.
You will be missed, Cousin John! Sending you love in heaven.

The good do indeed die young. We will never forget your smile, laugh, good-natured ribbing, and professional care you took with each customer. I've been with Giant for 36 years, and have never, ever met or known a colleague like John. He epitomizes what Giant is all about. I am proud to call John a good friend. Giant will never be the same without you, my friend.

What a sweet smile and sweet spirit! He was always one of the first to come and welcome the Rosa family at the annual Krueger picnic. May he rest in peace and love, knowing he made an impact in all of our lives. He will be sorely missed. With heartfelt sympathy, the Rosa-Darden family offers the Vaccacio and Krueger family our love and support.

"John was a great pharmacist. I wish I had a chance to work with him longer in Giant Pharmacy, even though during the short time that we had, he clearly taught me how far a pharmacist could take care of the patients"

Working with John, one discovers he does things with great care and without any sense of urgency...but he has left us far too quickly. It was a privilege working with such a fine man, and I have learned so much from him. I was honored to call him my friend. He is sorely missed.

This is so very sad. I got to know John while I was working with his mother, Ruth, during her stay at Carroll Lutheran Village. John and I hit it right off and we teased each other over baseball (Yankees/Orioles) and NYC culture. It was a pleasure to get to him and, in turn, to care for his mother, whom John adored ~ and I did, too. I am so very sorry to hear of his passing and my prayers will be with his entire family. It was a blessing to get to know John and his mother. They are very special people!

I didn't know John very long or very well. But long enough and well enough to know that he was a fine man who truly listened and truly cared. May he rest in peace and bring the best of memories to those who are left behind to share those memories in ways unimaginable.

John was one of the first people I met working at Giant pharmacy and I knew he was someone special. We had some great laughs and I learned so much from him on how to be a pharmacist. He was a kind, compassionate person who was so full of life and laughter. I will always remember our talks of all things related to NY sport teams, especially the Yankees, and how he told me to never give up on my dreams. I will miss you my friend, thank you for the memories.

I cannot begin to express how much I miss John already. Over the last 6 years of working with him he was always there for me. His self-deprecating humor was the best, he always laughed with people, never at them...and he always laughed, which was the most special part.
