Joseph Gitelman Obituary

Joseph Jay Gitelman, of Columbia, Maryland, passed away on Monday, October 21st, 2024, at the age of 84. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Gitelman (nee Nebb); loving son, Jeremy (Jessica) Gitelman; caring daughter-in-law, Amy Gitelman; loving sister-in-law, Arleen Gitelman; adoring grandchildren, Lucas Gitelman, and Hannah Gitelman; and his devoted nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Jonathan Gitelman; loving brother, Stephen Gitelman; and parents, Eugene and Sylvia Gitelman.

Joe graduated Long Beach High school, New York University and worked as a Systems Engineer for NASA Goddard Space Flight Center until early retirement in 1995. Then started a second career as a Financial Advisor to the present day. Well loved by everyone. Devoted Husband to his wife of 57 years. Beloved father to Jonathan and Jeremy and beloved Grandfather to Lucas and Hannah. One could always call on him and he would answer. He was always there for anyone in need.

Services at Columbia Memorial Park, 12005 Clarksville Pike Clarksville, MD 21029, on Sunday, October 27th, 2024, at 1pm. Please omit flowers. Contributions in his memory may be sent to Jewish National Fund Project Baseball, The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society Maryland, or Animal Advocates of Howard County.
